The Effectiveness of TOEIC Bootcamp Program in Improving English Proficiency: An Experimental Study at Politeknik Balekambang Jepara

This study examined the effectiveness of a three-day TOEIC Bootcamp organized by Politeknik Balekambang Jepara as part of a community service program. Twenty participants took part in a one-group pre-test post-test design involving simulated TOEIC tests, perception questionnaires, and observation sheets measuring engagement. The TOEIC simulated test consisted of 200 items developed following the official blueprint. A 15-item Likert-scale questionnaire and a five-indicator observation rubric were used as supporting instruments. The results of the paired sample t-test indicated a statistically significant improvement in TOEIC scores, with the mean increasing from 303.75 (pre-test) to 362.75 (post-test), yielding a mean difference of 59 points (t = 17.81, p < .05). Questionnaire results showed high participant satisfaction (M = 4.74/5), while observation data indicated high engagement (M = 3.64/4). These findings confirm that intensive bootcamp-based TOEIC preparation effectively improves listening and reading proficiency for vocational learners.
