Գրքի առաջին մասում քննվում են Մատենադարանի հայատառ պարսկերեն Ավետարանի ձեռագրերի ստեղծման պատճառները և պատմամշակութային ու էթնիկ-կրոնական միջավայրը։ Ուսումնասիրության երկրորդ մասը՝ այդ ձեռագրերի լեզվական խնդիրների քննությունն է, որի միջոցով բացահայտվում է հայերենի և պարսկերենի փոխազդեցությունների մի նոր շերտ։ Գրքի հավելվածում զետեղված են Մատենադարանի հայերեն ձեռագրերում տեղ գտած կրոնական բնույթի քննարկված բառերի ցանկը։
