This mansion stands on the former estate of
Bayham Abbey, one of the most impressive monastic ruins in Sussex.
This house was erected in the Tudor period on a hilltop, just above
the lake created out of a dammed stream. As can be seen in the
picture, it has a symmetrical grey front and two identical
gables.
