Leaf from an album with leaves that were engraved in the Iroha system. Here, “to (様),” the 7th letter. A leaf with a Chinese scene. It shows in the lower part the attempted assassination of the king (later emperor) Qin. The two assassins try to hold him by the sleeves (tamoto) of the coat and to dolk. But he asks for a song. The emperor succeeds in following the advice hidden in the song (see poem) and thus saving himself from the murder attack. In the upper part of a cloud the poem. On the type of leaf (clouds, Iroha-count, colors,...) cf. BI 24662, an album with leaves for the Ise monogatari Zur 様様 of Shunshō.
