Wedding dress and headdress of ribbed silk, satin, nylon net, artificial pearls and flowers, Wendy Ramshaw, Great Britain, 1962. Short wedding dress made of heavily ribbed white artificial silk with net, pearl beads, satin ribbons and artificial flowers headdress. Dress of heavy white synthetic ribbed silk. Fitted bodice with elbow length sleeves and deep square neckline edged with box-pleated white satin ruffles. The just-below-knee-length bell-shaped skirt comprises a short satin-ruffle-edged overskirt over a stiff Vilene underskirt with a deep hem of ribbed silk showing past the overskirt ruffle. Headdress made from a shower veil of nylon net studded with faux pearl beads, flowing cream satin ribbons and three artificial flowers (two large white roses and a pink camellia). Some of the ribbons were probably used to tie the bride's bouquet. Machine-sewn synthetic ribbed silk, satin, Vilene, nylon net, pearl beads, satin ribbons.
