O artigo apresenta uma etnografia da fila que se formou no estacionamento da Comic Con Experience no dia 06 de dezembro de 2019 para acessar os painéis do auditório Cinemark, realizados no dia seguinte. Com base no artigo de Leon Mann chamado “Queue Culture: The Waiting Line as a Social System” (1969) e no livro “Fila e Democracia” (2017) de Roberto da Matta e Alberto Junqueira, este texto define a fila como um espaço público democrático. O estudo entende também que ela consiste em uma prática social que gera sociabilidades, marcadas por um senso de comunidade. O artigo conclui que as referências às narrativas da cultura pop presentes no evento e na fila geram uma anterioridade afetiva que, compartilhada entre os indivíduos, instaura um “comum” que vincula seus comportamentos, emoções e afetos, conforme abordado por Muniz Sodré no livro “A ciência do comum: notas sobre o método comunicacional” (2014).
