A. Kientz—Optimization of Communication and Spatial Organisation: The Senufo Model. The organisation of space and habitat in a Senufo village is closely linked to the social structure. The distribution of open and built up space allows for a dominantly centripetal communication network respecting family identification (but not isolation). The new 'modern', government-sponsored, geo-metrical plan results in a partial break of the communication network which becomes centrifugal and tends to promote anomy.
