Torso from Rapino

View through Europeana Collections
3D model representing the Torso from Rapino preserved in Chieti, in the National Archaeological Museum of Abruzzo. The fragment was found in Rapino (CH), in the area inhabited by Marrucini. It presents characteristics similar to other Italic statues: the arms are bent on the belly in a staggered position in the same position of the warriors from Atessa and Capestrano. Moreover, the Rapino sculpture, similarly to that of Capestrano, wears a "mitria" (loincloth) and a belt, and is armed with a dagger or a sword whose tip protrudes below the hand. 3D model created as part of the ARS project in collaboration between the Abruzzo Regional Directorate of Museums, CAAM / Disputer department of the G. D'Annunzio University of Chieti, funded by EuroTeCH.
