Actor Nakamura Shikan as Ōtomo no Kuronushi

Gototei Kunisadaga GoGoGoGoGoGo? Nakamura Shikan 中 DarDarshows a scene from the Kabuki play “Seki no to の Dar.” Ōtomo no Kuronushi serves as a Sekibei at a border post, while in secret he plans to usurp imperial rule. For his plan to succeed, he has to perform a certain ritual for which he needs the wood of a cherry tree. However, when he tries to cut down the tree (see leaf), the goddess of the tree appears (probably on the right part), which finally defeats him. In this fight, the border guard shows his true (evil) form, which is illustrated by the make-up and the twirled hair.
