Usulan Reduksi Waste Material Spring Bed pada Proses Produksi PT. Remaja Jaya Foam

Abstract. PT. Remaja Jaya Foam is a company that produces various kinds of Spring Beds. The high need for products causes the company to have to produce in large quantities. However, in producing components, the company always produces defective components by 6%-7% of the production process. There is another type of waste, namely waiting. Therefore, the use of the lean six sigma method is expected to be able to reduce waste and improve quality. The following are the tools used, namely the SIPOC diagram, Value Stream Mapping (VSM) 7 waste questionnaire, Process Cycle Efficiency (PCE), DPMO level sigma, fishbone, visual control, and 5W + 1H. The PCE calculation results showed a result of 37%. This shows that the efficiency of the Spring Bed production process needs to be improved. The sigma level determination is carried out to determine the capability of the sigma level value in December 2021 – February 2022 is 2.27. Based on these indicators indicate that it is necessary to make improvements. The recommendations carried out are routine training of operators, making checksheets, visual work standards, scheduling machine maintenance, changing transfer batches, designing hanging conveyors from work stations per coil to thread.  The assumption is that if improvements are implemented, there will be a change in the PCE value of the sigma level. The current PCE value is 37% on futures of 58%. The sigma level value before the repair is 2.27 while after the repair it is 2.40. This indicates an increase in the sigma level of 0.13. Kebutuhan produk yang tinggi menyebabkan perusahaan harus memproduksi dalam jumlah besar. Akan tetapi dalam memproduksi komponen, perusahaan selalu menghasilkan komponen cacat sebesar 6%-7% dari proses produksi. Terdapat jenis pemborosan lain yaitu aktivitas menunggu. Maka dari itu, penggunaan metode lean six sigma diharapkan mampu mereduksi waste dan meningkatkan kualitas. Berikut ini merupakan tools yang digunakan yaitu diagram SIPOC, Value Stream Mapping (VSM) kuesioner 7 waste, Process Cycle Efficiency (PCE), DPMO level sigma, fishbone, visual control, dan 5W+1H. Hasil perhitungan PCE menunjukan hasil sebesar 37%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa efisiensi proses produksi Spring Bed perlu ditingkatkan. Penentuan level sigma dilakukan untuk mengetahui kapabilitas nilai level sigma pada bulan Desember 2021 – Februari 2022 adalah 2,27. Berdasarkan indikator tersebut menunjukkan bahwa perlu dilakukan perbaikan. Rekomendasi yang dilakukan yaitu pelatihan rutin operator, membuat checksheet, standar kerja secara visual, penjadwalan perawatan mesin, mengubah batch transfer, merancang konveyor gantung dari stasiun kerja per coil ke ulir.  Asumsi apabila perbaikan diimplementasikan, maka terjadi perubahan pada nilai PCE level sigma. Nilai PCE current sebesar 37% pada kondisi future sebesar 58%. Nilai level sigma sebelum perbaikan 2,27 sedangkan setelah perbaikan yaitu sebesar 2,40.
