Complete figurine with some cracking at the bottom edge.
Standing woman with arms outstretched, dressed. She wears a long conical hat that tapers to a teardrop shape as it goes down the length of the neck. Pinched-out face with large volute curl at forehead. Short neck, thick, and nearly round in section. Flat, irregular torso. Short, thick arms, flat at top, stretch out perpendicularly from the body; pinched out and twisted slightly. The bottom flares out and has a rounded edge, rough.
Decoration: black glaze on eyes, curl, and edges of headdress. Short vertical stripes falling from the neck at arm height. Pattern of framed wavy lines, horizontal on chest and vertical down the torso. Dress’ hem indicated by a straight double-band, horizontal. Simple back with a few straight horizontal bands. Freehand application; misfired.
Solid. Handmade. Trimmed with tools. Heavy for its size.
Light brown clay, finely levigated and hard-fired. Smooth to the touch.
Can be held comfortably by placing one finger on the headdress and the rest below the arms.
