The concept of civil society is not as new as it is considered but it was originated in the late 18th Century in the European countries to get more emancipation from the monarchial and religious rules and laws. The given theory or idea of Hegel and Ferguson was to get the autonomous status of individuals. This paper explores the basic teachings of Islam on Civil Society in Pakistan. In what sense/form civil society can be constituted in traditional countries and what is generally understood, focusing on Pakistan’s context? Furthermore, this paper focuses on whether civil society is problematic for traditional countries like Pakistan or not.
