The hybrid of the ornamental sunflower Sirius was obtained as a result of crossing two parent lines LD10 (variety of the ornamental sunflower Zhemchuzhny) and LD20. The main ornamental features of the hybrid Sirius are the original inflorescence, the light-yellow color of the ray flowers, the purple color of the tubular flowers, and the compact habitus. The hybrid belongs to the middle maturing group. The originator of the ornamental sunflower hybrid Sirius is the V.S. Pustovoit All-Russian Research Institute of Oil Crops (VNIIMK).
