Digər xalqlarla dostluq əlaqələri Azərbaycan xalqı üçün tarix boyu əsas prioritet olub. Xüsusilə, tarix boyu qonşu xalqlarla çox yaxın və səmimi münasibətlərimiz mövcud olub. Məhəmməd ibn Hinduşah Naxçıvani öz dövrünün müxtəlif xalqlarının dilləri, adət-ənənələri, dinləri və mədəniyyətləri haqqında ensiklopedik biliyə malik idi. Azərbaycan xalqının görkəmli nümayəndəsi olan M.Naxçıvani özünün “Sihahül-fürs” lüğətində başqa xalqlara məxsus bəzi dialekt sözlər haqqında da məlumat vermişdir. O dövrdə yaşamış müxtəlif xalqların mədəniyyətlərini daha dərindən başa düşmək üçün bu leksemləri ehtiva edən sözləri araşdırmaq və öyrənmək xüsusi əhəmiyyət kəsb edir. Lüğətdə Türk şəhərlərinin bir çoxunda məskunlaşan tarixi xalqların dialektləri haqqında məlumat verilir. “Sihahül-fürs” lüğətini həm şərqşünaslıq, həm də Türk dünyası üçün dəyərli mənbə hesab etmək olar.
