Cet article entend situer le plus précisément possible les travaux de Gaston Gross et de son équipe au sein de ce qu’on peut appeler « L’École des Grammaires Distributionnelles et Transformationnelles », dont les principaux représentants sont Zellig S. Harris, Maurice Gross, Jean Dubois & Françoise Dubois-Charlier, et Gaston Gross. Après avoir évoqué la collaboration de Maurice Gross avec Zellig Harris dans le processus d’élaboration de la théorie des Grammaires Distributionnelles et Transformationnelles, nous mettrons en évidence ce que Gaston Gross emprunte à Maurice Gross et ce en quoi il innove, allant même jusqu’à aborder un aspect du projet initial de Harris qui avait été laissé de côté par Maurice Gross.
