«Homo principialicus» in the context of the challenges of the modern world

The problem of the authorship of the yourself is becoming increasingly relevant in the context of an unstable crisis world. The challenges of the modern world create a special context for human life. The purpose of the article is to analyze the phenomenon of "a person of principle", to reveal the fundamental significance of life principles in the formation and functioning of the individual, to show them as a psychological mechanism for ensuring the subjectivity of the individual. The article introduces the author's definition of the concept of "a person of principle", which is interpreted as a person who has achieved a high level of spirituality, who has conscious beliefs in the form of life principles that he has defined for himself and which he follows in various circumstances and situations of his life. The main attention is paid to the analysis of the phenomenon of life principles. The empirical study was conducted using the psychosemantic technique of attribution of motives to life principles of the individual (authors: Nizovskikh N. A., Petrenko V. F.). The description of the results of a longitudinal study of the life principles of the respondent T., which was conducted in 2002, 2012 and 2024, is presented. As a result of processing the similarity matrices of value judgments (life principles of T.), seven significant orthogonal factors were identified in 2002, explaining 81.7 % of the variance; in 2012, five significant orthogonal factors, explaining 86.9 % of the variance; in 2024, four significant orthogonal factors, explaining 77.2 % of the variance. The identified factors can be interpreted and correlate well with the psychological portraits of the respondent at different years of her life, her social responsibility, subjective well-being and achievements. The main conclusion: constructive life principles reflecting the internal position of the individual allow a person to be the author of himself and the subject of his life, adequately responding to the challenges of the modern world. The practical significance of the research results lies in the possibility of their application in educational, consulting and training work. The prospects of the research relate to the development of the psychology of principiality as an applied scientific and academic discipline. Проблема принципиальности актуализируется в условиях кризисного общества. Вызовы современного мира создают особый контекст для живущих на земле. Целью статьи является представление результатов теоретико-эмпирического исследования феномена принципиальности. В статье вводится авторское определение понятия «человек принципиальный», раскрывается роль жизненных принципов в становлении и функционировании личности. Эмпирическое исследование проведено с применением психосемантической методики атрибуции мотивов жизненным принципам личности (авторы: Н. А. Низовских, В. Ф. Петренко). Представлены результаты лонгитюдного исследования жизненных принципов респондента T., которое проводилось в 2002, 2012 и 2024 годах. В результате обработки матриц сходства ценностных суждений (жизненных принципов Т.) в 2002 году было выделено семь значимых ортогональных факторов, объясняющих 81,7% дисперсии; в 2012 году – пять значимых ортогональных факторов, объясняющих 86,9% дисперсии; в 2024 году – четыре значимых ортогональных фактора, объясняющих 77,2% дисперсии. Выявленные факторы поддаются интерпретации и хорошо соотносятся с психологическими портретами респондента Т. в разные годы ее жизни, более всего c ее социальной ответственностью и достижениями. Основной вывод исследования состоит в том, что конструктивные жизненные принципы, отражающие внутреннюю позицию личности и ее духовно-нравственные основания, позволяют человеку быть автором себя и своей жизни, достойно отвечая на вызовы современного мира. Практическая значимость исследования состоит в возможности применения полученных результатов в образовательной, консультативной и тренинговой работе. Перспективы исследования связаны с развитием психологии принципиальности как прикладной научной и учебной дисциплины.
