Antonio Lobo Antunes and Manuel Alegre, two contemporary portuguese
authors, choose anachronism as the narrative basis of theis novels using the
epic of the fifteenth century. We know that the evocation of the historical period
still flatters national pride, but these writers go against the current. Indeed,
they ruly on this literary approach to attack popular-myth and this question
national history.
