The district is divided by several streets, one of which is the I (chi) chōme street. Along this street were many so-called ōmidana. These were shops selling mainly products from the province of Ōmi. The main focus of the business is the Shirokiya, a fabric trading company that was best known for tenugui Das Das (cotton sweat/wash/towel) with a soroban-tamatsunagi-pattern (pattern of the stones of an abacus). The group in the middle of the street with the typical double umbrella are dancers who specialize in the Sumiyoshi dance. The woman who follows them plays a shamisen Die 様様 (triangular plucking/percussion instrument) and belongs to the group of onna dayū 様 Die Die Die. These are female hikers who earned their money through stories that accompanied themselves. Fruit is sold to the right. The man next to it, who delivers an ordered food on a large tray, probably belongs to the soba store Tōkyōan, which lies next to the Shirokiya.
