Influence of Insecurity on Relationship among Tertiary Education Students. A Case Study of Zamfara State College of Education, Maru, Zamfara State, Nigeria

This study investigated the influence of insecurity on Relationship among students of Zamfara State College of Education, Maru. The study employed descriptive survey design. The population of the study was 1,784 NCE II students of Zamfara State College of Education, Maru. A sample of 100 students were selected using purposive sampling technique. The Instrument used for data collection was the Insecurity and Students Relationship Questionnaire (ISRQ). The instrument was validated by the senior lecturers in the department of Educational Foundations. A reliability test was carried out on the instrument using Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient. The data collected was analyzed using descriptive statistics. A decision mean of 1.50 and above was adopted as an “Agreed” point. Three objectives and three Research Questions guided the study. The findings of the study revealed that Insecurity has negatively influence the cordial relationship among the students of Zamfara State College of Education, Maru. The study recommended that, both the state and federal Government should introduce a strong military tactics towards curtailing the, menace of insecurity in the state. Also, students should continue to care for one another, have confidence in one another and should not allow insecurity to disrupt interaction process among them.
