Abstract
The cumbersomely entitled Appendix Barberino-Vaticana (here-after ABV) consists of fifty-four epigrams transmitted in three manuscripts: Vat. gr. 240 (hereafter V) written c.1560; Vat. Barb. gr. 123 (hereafter M), copied for Janus Lascaris, the first editor of the Planudean Anthology (1494), between 1504 and 1509, though the pages that carry ABV were not (as formerly believed) written in his own hand; and Par. Suppl. gr. 1199 (hereafter K), written on paper datable between 1480 and 1500, an important new witness first published in 1978 by E. Mioni and—independently— R. Aubreton.
