Hiroshigega Hi様 series of scenes from jōruri plays. Jōruri is originally a narrative vocals accompanied by a shamisen 様様 J( triangular plucking/percussion instrument) or other instruments. Later, this style of singing was integrated into the puppet theater and became synonymous with this genre. A very famous motif that often appears on Ukiyoe: Two women on their journey in front of the Fuji. The depiction refers to the eighth act of the Kabuki play “Chūshingura Die Die” and shows Tonase (on the right) and her daughter Konami (on the left) on the way to Konami’s future man Rikiya.
