Seismograms for historic Canadian earthquakes: the 20 November 1933 Baffin Bay earthquake

View through CrossRef
This paper is one in a series of reports designed to catalog the Geological Survey of Canada's (GSC) collection of seismograms for historical Canadian earthquakes. The data set has been assembled by past and present seismologists at the GSC. The seismogram collection for the 20 November 1933 Baffin Bay earthquake consists of records from 15 seismograph stations. To assist those who may study this earthquake in the future, this report describes the seismograms and instrument responses in the collection and indicates which record segments have been digitized. The magnitude calculations and first motions for ail seismograms used in the detailed Bent [1998a] study are also included. The digital data files may be obtained from the GSC.
