Critical Notes To Firmicus Maternus, De Errore
View through CrossRef
AbstractThe Christian polemic of Firmicus Maternus, De errore profanarum religionum, is known from a solitary manuscript P, Vaticanus Palatinus Latinus 165. After finding this manuscript in Minden in 1559, the Lutheran scholar Flacius produced the editio princeps in 1562. Modern editions, to be mentioned in the following discussion, are those of Ziegler (Teubner, 1907), Heuten (Brussels, 1938), Ziegler in a second edition (Munich, 1953), and Pastorino (Florence, 1956). I propose to discuss the readings in certain disputed passages.
