Homage to 15 years of Socratic Lectures

Abstract: We describe and comment the cultural event that was connected to 9th Socratic Lectures. The event took place May 20 in the Julij Betteto Hall, Kazina, that pertains to Academy of Music, University of Ljubljana. We reflect on the history of Socratic Lectures and under-lying vision integrated in university teaching and scientific work focusing on the students. Socratic lectures initiated in 2008 with a single lecture donated by prof. Bernd Engelmann from Ludwig-Maximilian University, Munich, Germany. The lecture was integrated in the examination of students from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana (subject Biomechanics of the hip). Socratic Lectures have been international events based on the scientific excellence and involvement of students at all levels into scientific work with the vision to promote the joy of learning and achieving amply supported by the joy of donat-ing.
