Figure on the foot stand, Qing dynasty

FIGUR, on bronze footstand. Sitting, facing forward with smiling face and open mouth, folding in the forehead, ears with prolonged carvings (signs of wisdom), shaved head, strongly swollen abdomen. Clothed long sleeved footside plaid rock, open over chest and abdomen. The icing yellowish, slightly iridescent, glossy, spotted and uneven. Foot stand of European manufacture, cast, gilded, with coherent rococo arches with leaf ornaments. The figure was attached to the middle resin instead. Purchased by Wilhelmina von Hallwyl, 27 May 1908, at art dealer J. Bosshard, Luzern, Switzerland. Figure.
