Challenges and solutions in retrofitting educational buildings: a comprehensive analysis

Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to comprehensively investigate the challenges and relevant solutions associated with the retrofitting of educational buildings. This study delves into the technical and implementation challenges faced by both contractors and employers to minimize their negative impacts and improve the execution process of such projects.
Design/methodology/approach
This research uses a multi-faceted methodology, incorporating fieldwork and extensive literature review. Using questionnaires and subsequent statistical analyses, the study identifies and elucidates the technical and implementation challenges in retrofitting projects. This approach provides a nuanced understanding of the complexities inherent in the process of resilience implementation.
Findings
Through meticulous statistical analyses, the research identifies and categorizes the foremost technical and implementation challenges in retrofitting educational buildings. The findings emphasize the significance of strategic budget allocation and personnel training in ensuring the success of retrofitting projects. The study also underscores the critical role of selecting skilled contractors for overcoming challenges and ensuring overall project success.
Originality/value
