Standard Manufacturing Process of Agnipaka Guduchi Taila: A Sneha Kalpna

ABSTRACT Background: Nowadays, the use of herbal medicine is increasingly finding more relevance, especially when we are facing more challenges in the management of some chronic disease. The traditional herbal medical knowledge is scattered around the world at different levels and more in the indigenous people. The knowledge of traditional medicine is continuously being lost; hence, it needs scientific documentation of herbal medicine. The concept of Agnipaka is to enhance more potency in oil by Samskar and extract the fat-soluble active principle from drug to sneha. Aim and Objective: The objective of this study was to document step-by-step procedure of Agnipaka Guduchi Taila and to document preparation and pharmaceutical observations of Agnipaka Guduchi Taila using scientific methods. Materials and Methods: Agnipaka Guduchi taila was prepared using Chakrdutta Aaditypaka guduchi taila reference. It was a modified process of Aaditypaka guduchi taila. Results: The oil prepared from Agnipaka vidhi is light brown, odor is pleasant, and having greasy consistency. Conclusion: The current study reflects standardization and it was an attempt to describing standard procedure where Aaditypaka guduchi taila is modified as Agnipaka guduchi taila.
