In May-June 2015, a trial excavation was conducted east of Nahal Zon and south of Segev Shalom (Permit No. A-7417; map ref. 183893-4068/564820-950; Fig. 1), prior to paving a road. The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and financed by the Authority for Development and Settlement of the Bedouins in the Negev, was directed by V. Lifshits (field photography), with the assistance of Y. Al-‘Amor (administration), M. Kunin and A. Hajian (surveying and drafting), E. Aladjem (aerial photography), S. Talis and Y. Israel (consultation), N. Zak (plans) and I. Lidsky-Reznikov (pottery drawing).
