Effect of Heat Treatment on Barkhausen Noise Behaviours of Deformed Low Carbon Steel

We investigated the Barkhausen noise profiles for the undeformed and deformed low carbon steel when the specimens were heat treated with modifications of microstructures of specimen: recovery, recrystallization process and stress relief. The Barkhausen noise parameter is almost constant in heat treatment at a lower temperature, while it shows a rapid decrease with heat treatment time at higher temperatures. The recovery process contributes to the decreases of Barkhausen noise signal in heat treatment at higher temperatures.
