Iranian Cauldrons of “Open Type”

View through CrossRef
The article analyzes Iranian cauldrons of “open type”, using a term which was introduced by J. Orbeli in 1938 in his short article about Albanian stone reliefs and cauldrons. The production of these cauldrons appeared in Eastern Iran (Khorasan province) at the end of the 10th century, and their study makes it possible to trace the stable existence of the form during 400 years at least.
