Development of efficient passenger transport system for modern cities
View through CrossRef
The paper discusses the development of methods to improve the performance and connectivity of public transport. The paper is focused on key attractiveness parameters of public transport for residents, including transportation speed, passenger traffic, passenger flow distribution, and accessibility of transport facilities.
AIM: This work aimed to improve the public transport performance in urban areas as its low performance may lead to high road transport density affecting the city, including a greater number of road accidents and environmental impact. Passenger transport development is a priority in the context of convenient and fast transportation in a big city.
METHODS: The method includes a comprehensive calculation of key performance parameters of the public transport system aimed at improving and optimizing user experience in urban environments. This paper analyzes the performance of the urban public transport system, presents various transportation modification options, and calculates such important indicators as uneven distribution of passenger flows in the transportation system; connectivity of urban districts and their transportation systems, and the performance of the designed systems based on their relevance to the future urban development.
RESULTS: We calculated the performance parameters of the transport network developed based on an analysis of the existing limitations of the urban transport infrastructure. The study presents a comprehensive multi-criteria assessment of transport development strategies and implementation alternatives for urban conditions.
