Tobit Regression Analysis of Factors Influencing Market Access on the Harvesting Yield of Long Coriander in Battambang, Cambodia

View through CrossRef
Long Coriander, a highly valued leafy vegetable in Southeast Asia, is related to the coriander family. It enhances the flavor of common ingredients in Central and Southeast Asian cuisine and has a distinct coriander scent. Due to its strong market demand and recognized health benefits, it holds significant potential for small-scale producers in the Battambang region of Cambodia. To accomplish this research’s objectives, this study delves into the statistical significance of market access on harvesting yield, employing Tobit and stepwise regression analyses to identify key factors influencing the quantity of Long Coriander harvested by Battambang producers. By analyzing censored data, researchers aim to uncover the challenges faced by these producers in accessing markets and their impact on yield. The findings will inform targeted interventions to enhance market opportunities, discover effective development strategies for the economic sustainability of Long Coriander crop, improve producer livelihoods, and optimize production outcomes. Additionally, this research contributes to a deeper understanding of agricultural production factors in the region and provides a foundation for future studies on Long Coriander cultivation.
