Abstract
Knud Arne Jürgensen’s important book, The Verdi Ballets, now makes it possible to raise additional questions about Verdi’s contribution to the genre or, rather, about dance in Verdi’s operas, since the issues go beyond those scores in which Verdi composed free-standing instrumental ballet music.
