Spontaneous termination of ventricular tachycardia: A case report
View through CrossRef
Introduction: Ventricular tachycardia is solely originated from ventricular tissues or purkinje fibers. Ventricular tachycardia can be classified as sustained and non-sustained.
Sustained ventricular tachycardia is managed with pharmacologic agents, electrical cardioversion or ablation therapy.
Case report: A 26 years old male presented with palpitation of one hour and diagnosed as sustained ventricular tachycardia with the rate of 220.
After some while the symptom & the abnormal findings were spontaneously terminated.
Conclusion: it is known that sustained ventricular tachycardia with unstable signs needs immediate termination. However, sustained ventricular tachycardia in this patient was terminated spontaneously.
Key words: Ventricular tachycardia, management, spontaneous termination.
