View through CrossRef
This study aims to find out how the hadith views the dowry of marriage which can be said to be quite strange because it is not like in general. Then, from the perspective of Islamic Hadith, what about the flip-flops wedding dowry? In this study, the authors used a qualitative method with a literature study approach. The author conducts research by collecting data and analyzing the data that has been collected. The results of this study explain that there are marriages that use a dowry in the form of flip-flops and this couple explains how they can give a dowry in the form of flip-flops and explains why they wear a dowry in flip-flops, namely because the bride (Helmi) does not want to burden her husband (Yudi) and his family. Then the sandals will be displayed in their house and used as story material for their children and grandchildren later. The bride (Helmi) should be able to think more rationally to think about what dowry she wants and needs, which she can then discuss and please each other. The reason is that after not even a year of marriage, they divorced because of an affair with each other. With the provision of a marriage dowry in the form of flip-flops, it is okay or it can be said that the law is permissible, but both husband and wife are happy. The flip-flops are by the hadith. However, according to the author, even though flip flops are allowed to be used as a dowry, it would be inappropriate and better if the flip flops were added with other dowries, such as money, gold, or goods. So, it can be concluded that in marriage it is better to give a dowry in the form of money, gold, or appropriate goods, for the sake of maintaining the benefit and public interest.
