Portretele lui Pârvan

The present approach starts from a very interesting discovery made in the photographic archive of the “VasilePârvan” Institute of Archaeology. The discovery consists in the photograph of the silhouette of Vasile Pârvan, a silhouette drawn on one of the interior walls of the Casa Mare in Histria. Th e drawing, a line of charcoal over white lime is perhaps the most expressive portrait of Pârvan, the closest to his way of understanding the world and gives us the opportunity for a wider discussion about Pârvan’s portraits
