Priority areas of strategic development of Vasyl Stefanyk National Scientific Library of Ukraine in Lviv

The main directions of modernization and system transformation of Vasyl Stefanyk National Scientific Library of Ukraine in Lviv are covered as a socio-cultural and socio-territorial center. The tasks and criteria of efficiency of its activity are defined. The principles, priorities and components of the strategy of development of the national scientific library and informa¬tion complex are considered. It has been found that the development of the library is influenced by the global changes taking place in our society. There are first of all implementation of the latest and innovative technologies in the work of libraries; accelerating the process of modernization of libraries and, consequently, the need for professional socialization; uniting librarians into professional communities such as associations to solve common problems; advanced training in library teams as a motivation for learning. All this affects the formation of a new level of relationships in information and library activities. The implementation of a number of measures is proposed, the realization of which, on the one hand, will provide an opportunity to carry out a systematic transformation of library work, and on the other — will affect the innovative development of Vasyl Stefanyk National Scientific Library of Ukraine in Lviv.
