A study of the relationship between the mother and the daughter abbeys in the Middle Ages, based on the example of the Brandenburg Cistercian abbey of Lehnin and its first filial foundation in Paradyż, located in Greater Poland, with reference to mentions

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie opactwa w Lehnin jako centralnego punktu religijnego średniowiecznej Brandenburgii oraz analiza jego znaczenia dla ekspansji zakonu cystersów, szczególnie w kontekście fundacji opactwa w Paradyżu, na terenie Wielkopolski. Zbadanie wzajemnych relacji między opactwem Lehnin a Paradyżem pozwoli ustalić, czy od momentu fundacji nowego opactwa powiązania między opactwem macierzystym a nowoutworzonym klasztorem były trwałe i kluczowe dla sukcesu nowej wspólnoty zakonnej, czy też uległy osłabieniu wraz z upływem czasu. Analizie poddane zostaną także występujące konflikty wewnątrzzakonne oraz ewentualne napięcia między opactwami, które mogły wpłynąć na ich współpracę i rozwój. Podstawowe źródło badawcze cytowane w niniejszym artykule stanowią Statuta Capitulorum Generalium Ordinis Cisterciensis (1116-1786).
