DETERMINANTS OF MEDICAL TOURISM IN COASTAL KARNATAKA

Karnataka is a premier medical tourism destination in India, primarily cantered in coastal Karnataka, offering high-quality, cost-effective healthcare, including cardiac surgery, oncology, and transplants. Combining advanced corporate hospitals, accredited medical institutions, and traditional Ayurveda wellness, it serves international patients with specialized care, making it a leading health destination in India. The main objective of the study is to study the determinants of medical tourists in coastal Karnataka. 410 foreign patients and their family members as respondents for the study both primary and secondary data was collected for the study purpose. Structured questionnaires were distributed among the respondents for the data collection. Descriptive research methodology was followed. Yamen sample design was chosen for the sampling method. Regression analysis was used with the help of SPSS software to find out the influence of Patients’ Perceived Factors and organisational determinants on the perception of foreign tourist towards medical tourism in coastal Karnataka. The research revealed that, Patients’ Perceived Factors and organisational determinants are significantly influencing the perception of foreign tourist who are coming for medical treatment in coastal Karnataka.
