Here’s the picture about the snow. A young man (Mitsuuji Ein od. Genji Ein?) warms himself by a small stove, half covered with a kimono. The stove shows a landscape by the sea with pine trees and sailboats. The blue kimono lying on it is patterned with snow-covered twigs and herons. The young man with a shrimp tail hair knot (allusion to Mitsuuji) wears a kimono decorated with Genji chapter sign for the 23rd chapter. In the background a large wall shade with phenixes and various plants (pine twigs, peonies, bamboo,...). Behind it, a small box, on whose door a picture of a poet from the series Hyakunin isshu DDDD( poems of the Hundred Poets) and two long poems were glued. Notice of the New Year’s Day.
