Snow melt in the forest. Especially black, earth and trees and shrubs work in winter - everything draws graphic structures into the snow white environment. The snow melt causes the water to flow into the pits of the hills and small mountains in our area and rush into the valley. This small piece of woods in thaw - a simple perception on a quiet day, but seen with grateful or fascinated eyes.
“A simple year” was published in 1967 as a hand-held press. The text was reproduced with machine script. The book contains 25 woodcuts and 24 vignettes.
In the book “Der Holzschneider Johannnes Lebek Leben und Werk” edited by Elisabeth and Hubert Wegner, Rudolf Schneider Verlag Munich 60, 1988, it was published in 1967. (Museum Schloss Moritzburg Zeitz)
