During April 2012, an excavation was conducted north of Highway 431 in Ramla (Permit No. A-6458; map ref. 187587-640/647007-103; Fig. 1), prior to construction. The excavation, on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority, was directed by E. Haddad, with the assistance of Y. Amrani (administration), Y. Elisha (site preparation), A. Hajian (surveying and drafting), A. Peretz (field photography), M. Sadeh (archaeozoology), A. Nagorsky (pottery reading), E. Kamaisky (pottery restoration), A. Ganor (glass restoration), M. Avissar (ceramic consultation), C. Hersch (pottery and glass drawing), C. Amit (studio photography), B. Ouahnouna (glass), L. Kupershmidt (metallurgical laboratory) and N. Zak and E. Belashov (plans). I. Kornfeld conducted trial trenches at the site prior to the excavation.
