EFFECT OF COVID-19 ON HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT IN FEDERAL MEDICAL CENTRE, ASABA, DELTA STATE

Human history has witnessed great ruptures that have affected all societies in different periods of time. Depressions and crises such as wars, natural disasters (famine, earthquake, fire, climate irregularities, among others.). The descriptive statistics was employ in the study were a structured questionnaire was used to collect information from the target respondent who were the employees of Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, Delta State.  The broad objective is to investigate the effect of Covid-19 on human capital development in Federal Medical Centre; Asaba, Delta State. The population of the study was 420, which Taro Yamene was used to arrive at the sample size of 204. Three hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The findings revealed that the telework has significant effect on employee work skill in FMC Asaba; Zoom has significant effect on job knowledge of employees in FMC, Asaba. However, social distancing has negative and significant effect on job competence of employees in FMC, Asaba. Based on the findings, the following recommendations were made; The disease has already killed thousands of people, and some people who survive may suffer long-term damage to their health.
