The icon of the Transfiguration of the Lord from the Saviour Transfiguration Monastery in Beleu is a unique monument of Russian icon-painting. It was made in the last quarter of the 17th century by craftsmen of the Armoury Chamber of the Moscow Kremlin. This study is dedicated to the more than three hundred year history of this remarkable image.
