Abstract
The historical region of Achaia covered the northern coast of the Peloponnese and can be divided into three large and geographically distinct areas: the central area, dominated by the Panachaikon massif, which acts as a natural border between east and west; the mountain ranges of Erymanthos and of Aroania to the south; and the Gulf of Corinth to the north (
see
Corinthian Gulf).
