Behandlingsforskning i Finland

Trots att det gjorts ett stort antal studier av effekten av alkoholistbehandling, har mycket av forskningen varit av bristande kvalitet. Det är viktigt att ha bättre underlag för planering av vård och behandling, och fortsatt metodutveckling när det gäller behandlingsforskning är av stort värde. I denna artikel presenteras fyra större undersökningar som gjorts i Finland. Även om ingen vårdform uppvisar ideala resultat, talar det för nyttan att vårda alkoholmissbrukare. För att förebygga alkoholskador torde det dock löna sig att fästa huvudvikten vid tidig diagnos och behandling av högkonsumenter.
