Faced with the challenge of inserting young people into the labor market, legitimized by the technological and social demands of the contemporary world, which demand skills and abilities for entrepreneurship, this study aimed to investigate the Entrepreneurial Education developed in an extracurricular way in the State Technical Schools of São Paulo. Paulo, verifying, in this context, to what extent extracurricular entrepreneurial activities influence the entrepreneurial intention of students in the final grades and modules, considering personality traits and the existence of businesses in the family. To do so, it was necessary to address more specific aspects related to the extension activities created by the Centro Paula Souza (CPS) or by the Technical School (Etec) itself, and other activities arising from partnerships with public, private institutions or civil society organizations focused on development. of entrepreneurship. The theoretical gap found in the national and international literature on this subject allows recognizing that the present research brings a contribution to the managers of secondary schools, in particular to the academic and pedagogical teams of the Etecs, with regard to the potential of offering extracurricular entrepreneurial activities in the effective triggering of the students' intention to undertake, not being restricted to teaching or research on entrepreneurship. Unveiling this reality required a careful look that allowed us to consider which personality traits are dominant in individuals who intend to be entrepreneurs. Therefore, the objectives of this work are: (i) to identify which personality trait has the greatest influence on the intention to undertake, (ii) to verify whether extracurricular entrepreneurial education has an influence on the relationship between personality traits and the intention to undertake and (iii) analyze the influence of the existence of businesses in the family on the students' intention to undertake. Thus, the aim of this research lies in the convergence between personality traits and the resulting entrepreneurial intention of students. The sample consisted of students enrolled in the final series or modules of technical courses and Etec graduates. Through multivariate data analysis and structural equation modeling, the influence of personality traits, extracurricular entrepreneurial education and the existence of family businesses on the students' intention to undertake was verified. It was found that all personality traits considered (Openness to New Experiences, Kindness, Conscientiousness, Extroversion and Neuroticism) showed a statistically significant relationship with the Entrepreneurial Intention of the students who participated in the research. While Openness to New Experiences, Conscientiousness and Extroversion showed higher coefficients, denoting a strong influence on the intention to undertake, the Agreeableness and Neuroticism traits, although they also showed a positive effect, showed less explanatory power, that is, a weak influence, as expected. The influence of extracurricular entrepreneurial activities on entrepreneurial intention, measured by Simple Regression Analysis, showed a positive and significant relationship, allowing to conclude that student participation in Extracurricular Entrepreneurial Education activities has predictive power and significance in entrepreneurial intention

Description:

The influence of extracurricular entrepreneurial activities on entrepreneurial intention, measured by Simple Regression Analysis, showed a positive and significant relationship, allowing to conclude that student participation in Extracurricular Entrepreneurial Education activities has predictive power and significance in entrepreneurial intention.
