СOMPARATIVE STUDY OF CENTRIFUGAL PUMP

In this study, a centrifugal pump was analyzed to examine the effect of the use of inductors on its performance. Tests have been carried out to obtain optimal hydraulic performance before and after using the inductor. We used two types of inductors (axial inductors, screw inductors). For this, a test setup with a pumping system was specially designed to investigate the parameters under consideration. In this study, a simulation of the performance of a centrifugal pump in combination with inductors using CFD is presented for comparison with experimentally observed values. The model explores the effect of using inductors on pump head and flow. The results of the CFD model and experiment correlate well. In addition, the results assist pump decision makers in future developments in pump performance by ensuring that the pumps are in a safe and reliable operating condition. It can also be used for a wide variety of high head and flow pump applications.
