Del Ovo al Relevo espacial: Emergencias y disrupciones en la colección Adolpho Leirner

In 2003, the exhibition Cuasi-corpus: Arte concreto y neoconcreto de Brasil: Una selección del acervo del Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo y la colección Adolpho Leirner was held in Mexico. Eighteen years after this curatorial project, new interpretations of the Leirner collection can be made based on other art-historical paradigms by considering iconic works that triggered aesthetic disruptions. Lygia Clark’s Ovo and Bicho (máquina), and Hélio Oiticica’s Relevo espacial, symbolize the emergence of a performative and dynamic dimension, functioning as visual devices that enabled an encounter with the body and color. We propose a critical review based on current debates in order to determine and analyze the tension towards the corporeal in Clark’s and Oiticica’s objects.
