Carus (Marcus Aurelius Carus Augustus)

View through CrossRef
Abstract From Narbo, Carus was Roman emperor from 282 to 283 ce . Unprecedentedly, he did not ask ratification from the Senate, or even, it seems, visit Rome while emperor. He scored a noteworthy though indecisive victory over Persia, but died while still on campaign.
